What kind of verse?

verse: Ashihiki no Kugami no yama wo ima mo kamo nakite koyu ramu yama hototogisu
(imho): On Kugami mountain, just now, it must be flying over with singing, Japanese cuckoo.
poet: Ryokan
in: 19th century

i have visited Gogou-in which Mr. Ryokan lived in, near Yahiko shrine. It was located in the middle of the mountain and was a small hermitage.

The sound of Japanese cuckoo resonated well in the Kugami mountain, and it probably attracted Mr. Ryokan who spends alone.

“Hototogisu”, Japanese cuckoo, is a summer term. i’m going to create some works of verses with hototogisu.
