What kind of verse?
| verse: | Ashihiki no Kugami no yama wo ima mo kamo nakite koyu ramu yama hototogisu |
|---|---|
| (imho): | On Kugami mountain, just now, it must be flying over with singing, Japanese cuckoo. |
| poet: | Ryokan |
| in: | 19th century |
i have visited Gogou-in which Mr. Ryokan lived in, near Yahiko shrine. It was located in the middle of the mountain and was a small hermitage.
The sound of Japanese cuckoo resonated well in the Kugami mountain, and it probably attracted Mr. Ryokan who spends alone.
“Hototogisu”, Japanese cuckoo, is a summer term. i’m going to create some works of verses with hototogisu.
