(imho): Today is the day when summer leaves and autumn comes. On the roads in the sky where the two passes each other, a cool breeze should be blowing only on one side.

This is a poem he created on the last day of June of Japan’s old (lunisolar) calendar, around August 7th now.

Since ancient times, this day has been the day for the “Summer Purification” event to remove the impurities of the first half of the year. Purifying food at the peak of the heat may have also had the effect of preventing food poisoning. It may also have been a way to mentally end the semester.

By the way, the idea that autumn comes with cool breezes is said to be a reference to poems by Emperor Xiaowu of the Song Dynasty and Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty. It intelligently expresses the changing seasons.

My idea for this work

This is my second time writing this poem.

Since the aspect ratio of the paper is different, the composition is also completely different. Last time, I looked at the coming and going seasons as two levels, top and bottom. This time, I used the blank space in the middle of the vertical direction to represent the roads: Kayohiji.
