#167 Happy New Year
Size: | Postcard 148×100 mm |
---|
Introduction
The threat posed by “small creatures” has eased. This year looks like it will be a year in which you can make a big leap forward like a dragon.
I pray that this year will be a good year for all of you.
What kind of verse?
verse: | Shizuka sa ya, saewatari kuru, hane no oto |
---|---|
(imho): | The quietness and the clear sound of the feathers. |
poet: | Murakami, Kijyo |
in: | Before 1938 (before year of death) |
In the stillness of the cold, clear air on New Year’s Day, I can imagine the clear sound of children playing battledore “Hanetsuki ” and the sound of crack.
Although we do not see children playing that game anywhere in Japan nowadays. It has become a scenery that can only be imagined.
Note
At the end of last year, I made more than 10 types of New Year’s card samples. Another these two types were actually given out as “handwritten” New Year’s cards by a method of a hybrid of analog and digital.
The left side: To the students in my calligraphy class
I drew a kite with a dragon written on it soaring high into the sky. I especially hope that the students taking the exam will have good results.
- Silk screen printing (the original image is a processed photo of the photograph) ⇒ Mountain range
- Acrylic paint ⇒ Sky and golden clouds
- Handwritten on a small piece of paper ⇒ A kite with the word dragon written on it
The right side: To teachers involved in kana calligraphy
It was over-the-top to send my work to the expert teacheras, but this experience was also educational for me.
- Inkjet printing (the original image is a digital drawing) ⇒ Background including an introduction to a haiku poem
- Handwritten a haiku poem on a small piece of paper
