Note
Sakamoto, Ryoma is the most famous hero in Japanese history.
On November 9, 1867, “Taisei Hokan”, which is the restoration of government to the crown, occurred. This event, also known as the “Meiji Restoration” in English, marked a significant turning point in Japanese history.
He initiated the idea of the event to avoid full-scale war in Japan.
A book said he created this poem when the Taisei Hokan succeeded.
